Waste Reduction Week organizers seeking hosts
Waste Reduction Week 2002, the second national Waste Reduction Week, will be celebrated Oct. 21-27, 2002. Once again, the theme of Waste Reduction Week is “Too Good to Waste.” This year’s Volunteer and School Activity Handbook focuses on how we can reduce waste in our daily lives.
The themes for each day are as follows:
Monday — Reducing waste at home
Tuesday — Travel
Wednesday — At work
Thursday — At school
Friday — At play
Saturday — Shopping/buying
Sunday — Community/business
Promotional posters and workbooks will be available in mid August. The materials will also be downloadable from www.wrwcanada.com.
The National WRW Committee is looking for community groups and schools to host events during Waste Reduction Week. Is your organization interested in putting on an event, e.g. opening of a new recycling facility / waste reduction program, media events of waste reduction related theme, celebration of achieved successes, school / classroom activities?
To register an event, visit www.wrwcanada.com and use the on-line registration form.
