Toronto organic waste project postponed
A pilot project to collect organic waste that was slated to begin in Etobicoke in July will be delayed until September to make the "green bins" taller and more user friendly. After city council approved the $1.37-million project, public works officials decided to add an additional 10 cm to the height of the bins at a cost of $70,000 (or $1 more per bin). If the project is successful, it will be implemented across the city next year.
