SWANA announces 2003 excellence awards

On September 10, 2003, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announced its 2003 Excellence Award Winners. SWANA’s Excellence in Solid Waste Management Program was created to acknowledge outstanding programs that are committed to the “environmentally and economically sound management of solid waste.” This year’s winners will be recognized at a luncheon at WASTECON 2003, October 16, 2003, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Among the winners is the Hamilton Public Works Department, Waste Management Division of Hamilton, Ontario, which won gold in the Marketing category. For a complete list of the winners, visit www.SWANA.org
