The 10th Annual Ontario Recycler Workshop (ORW) will take place on June 17, 2010 in Barrie, Ontario and, like each of its predecessors, it will offer an excellent opportunity to find out the many and varied initiatives that are contributing to continuous improvement in Ontario recycling.
The Continuous Improvement Fund (CIF) is hosting this year’s event and will be sponsored by Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO), Stewardship Ontario, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), and the City of Toronto.
If you are a municipal waste or recycling staff member, municipal councillor or a waste planning consultant, you will not want to miss this event. We invite and encourage you to attend this event, which is free of charge. As always, the ORW is offered for in person and webcast attendees. Please register soon to let us know if you plan to attend in person or via the internet.
The 2010 event will include the following:
-Program Updates: CIF and its partners will address central topics such as the future of Ontario blue box with full EPR. Find out how other programs are maximizing program funding as they prepare for the coming years.
-CIF on the Web: Learn about CIF’s new web based tools for P&E, contracts and tendering, and multi-residential recycling. You can use these tools anytime, anywhere to strengthen your recycling program.
-Innovations: New approaches for old and new issues. Think about how a compactor can save you money, how to develop a waste recycling strategy, hear about new tools for multi-residential recycling or deal with EPS in a remote area.
-Managing ‘problem materials’: We all have them but how best to manage them? Find out about CIF’s plastics projects and steps to address polystyrene markets issues.
-Learn more about WDO’s market consistency report on paper fibres – all from the people who know these issues best. Each session ends with a question and answer period and some offer opportunities for group discussions.
The 2010 ORW will take place at the Churchill Ballroom, Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Centre from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
