Hamilton's new HHW depot

The City of Hamilton recently opened its newest household hazardous waste (HHW) depot at HOTZ Environmental Services Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario. The facility accepts paint and paint cans, motor oil, a variety of batteries, aerosol cans, propane cans, fire suppressant containers and propane tanks.

The City Of Hamilton has more than 500,000 residents and this initiative is one more step towards meeting an aggressive waste diversion target of 65 per cent by 2008 as adopted by City Council in December 2001.
