EMS to acquire WasteCo

Ottawa, Ontario-based Environmental Management Solutions (EMS) Inc. announced on July 31, 2003 that it intends to acquire 100 per cent of the issued and outstanding shares of WasteCo Environmental Services Ltd. (WasteCo.) EMS will pay vendors $8.5-million payable through 1,612,903 EMS common shares at $1.55 per share and a cash payment of $6-million upon completion of due diligence.

According to Frank D’Addario, president and CEO of EMS, the acquisition of WasteCo represents a significant and exciting addition for EMS and increases the capacity and range of services within the company’s waste management business division. In addition, the acquisition places EMS in the forefront as the leading, full service provider for Western Canada.
