Composting conference call for papers
The Composting Council of Canada has issued a call for papers for the 12th Annual National Conference,
Exhibits and General Meeting to be held September 19 – 20, 2002 at the World Trade & Convention Centre in
Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Conference provides a national forum for those involved in the development and expansion of composting and compost utilization. Participants include representatives from municipal, provincial and federal governments (particularly with interests in environment, agriculture and economic development), industry (organic waste generators, compost system manufacturers and designers, facility operators, marketers of compost) and academia.
The Conference provides participants with extensive opportunities for learning and networking. Papers on the following topics are encouraged:
special waste composting (on-farm composting, manure management, wood & paper fiber wastes, biosolids, food residuals), compost marketing strategies, compost technology developments, analytical and applied composting research, management of operational issues, innovative composting programs for households and the private sector, education and communication strategies.
