Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo update (November 03, 2003)

Excitement surrounding the upcoming Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo is building as new and returning companies from Canada and around the world announce their exhibit plans. The sixth annual Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo will again be co-located with the Canadian Public Works Expo and takes place December 3-4, 2003 at Toronto’s International Centre.

Canada’s only national trade show serving the multi-billion dollar industry for collection, hauling, processing and disposal of waste also focuses on materials recycling and municipal recycling programs. Hundreds of exhibitors will showcase their equipment, product, technology and services to both the waste and recycling industries.

Of special interest are two companies that recently announced their participation. Martin Marietta, a first-time exhibitor will showcase their latest product; and long-time exhibitor, Peterson Pacific plans to unveil their latest recycling solution at the 2003 exhibition. Both of these companies exemplify the quality of exhibitors participating at the upcoming show.

“As the show approaches, we are seeing more and more new suppliers joining the event, adding to the established success of returning exhibiting companies. Innovation in the waste and recycling industry is constant, with legislation and regulations changing every week. Exhibiting companies are of vital importance, as they provide the solutions today to enable the industry to meet the requirements of tomorrow,” said Roland Bleinroth, President of show organizer Messe Frankfurt, Inc.

Martin Marietta Composites will display, for the first time in Canada, their revolutionary all-composite material, live-floor trailer. The advantages of the trailer include significantly lower tare weight, higher capacity, increased strength and durability, and non-corrosiveness. The ultimate design from Martin Marietta Composites will be a 50-foot, live-floor transfer trailer with a weight of 12,000 pounds, a capacity of more than 132 cubic yards and a GVWR of 68,000 pounds. Martin Marietta Composites, a recognized world leader in the engineering of advanced materials, licensed the trailer technology from Composittrailer n.v. of Belgium and has modified the trailer to meet North American regulations and market preferences.

Peterson Pacific Corporation offers effective solutions to help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills each year. Their processing and delivery equipment takes low-grade organic materials and transforms it into high-value products such as mulch and compost. At the show they will present their latest recycling solution – the Peterson 4700 horizontal recycler. Especially designed for high-volume producers with demanding end-product specifications, this equipment serves to minimize wear and material spillage with the ability to customize for a variety of finished materials.
