Boisclair seeks to stimulate Quebec recycling rates

Quebec’s Ministry of Environment will be asked to review the initial methods it had proposed for financing recyclable materials collection programs and come up with a new approach that will facilitate municipal programs, Minister Andre Boisclair said last week. This, he explained, will produce a new regulation requiring targeted businesses to belong to an authorized agency whose principal mandate will be to finance municipal selective collection programs.
