BC publisher uses 100 per cent recycled paper

Raincoast Books, the Vancouver, B.C.-based publisher is demonstrating its commitment to conserving trees by printing many of its books on 100 per cent recycled paper, including the latest in the Harry Potter series.

The publisher had to spend thousands in additional costs for the recycled paper, but expect the good deed and publicity to be worth the costs. While the publishers couldn’t find a Canadian source for the large quantity of paper required for the Harry Potter print run this time, it plans to use 100 per cent post-consumer recycled paper from a Quebec-based company next time.
