Allied Waste takes charges, restructures operations

Allied Waste Industries Inc. has announced it will book up to $10 million in charges for restructuring field operations, reducing its total number of regions, and cutting jobs. In SEC filings, Allied announced it will reduce its number of regions from 12 to nine, cut about 30 employees, and take restructuring charges of $5 million to $10 million.
