Waste & Recycling Engineer — Posting #09-83

Reporting to the Waste & Recycling Services Manager, you will provide engineering expertise in support of current and new programs. You will deliver programs, policies and initiatives that support the core business direction of Waste & Recycling Services as related to waste prevention, waste diversion, waste processing and waste disposal programs.

You will have an opportunity to work on a variety of projects that include engineering design, construction management, process improvement, service delivery and program design projects. Specific duties will include managing consultants and contractors, managing service contracts, reviewing operating processes, completing research, analysis and recommendations on new programs, and providing technical support to the operating areas of the business unit.

As part of the Waste & Recycling Services team, you will be joining a dedicated group of professionals focused on customer needs, tangible, effective results and maintaining a supportive team environment.

Qualifications: Those interested in this opportunity should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with four to seven years experience in the area of waste management, environmental management or engineering design. You will require knowledge of environmental practices, engineering design principles, contract management and project management. You will have the ability to research, analyze, estimate, and present recommendations for program development. You should be registered or be eligible for registration with APEGGA.
